Naice Inking

Hey, haven't updated the blog for some time because I'm still working in the comic.

Now the inking is finally finished :D I'm very happy, didn't think I would finish it in one week. Now I understand that the inking doesn't need so much "creative thinking", I mean there are parts in which you have to get the shades correctly and think about the balance of white and black and composition but for me it was mainly a mechanical process- only needs coffee to work XD

Now as I said before I'm going to start coloring (very excited to do it) but I will not use opacity because I don't want to ruin the lines. I've seen some comics that have such a great linework and then some other artist applies the colors and that absolutely kills the freshness of the lines because everything looks too smudgy.
I don't want to do that. That's why I will only use full opacity (unless I don't do it XD)

As to the covers and promotional illustrations, I will use my regular illustration style :)

        

 

Now I don't know how long it will take me to color all of this because it's the first time I do a comic with so many pages, but my goal is to finish it in a max o 2 weeks or less. If it's not possible I'll have to work to make it happen (impossiburu? nonsensu!).

Naice Try- Background concepts

Hey so look what we have here today! Must say that I'm very happy for almost reaching the 20th page and things are developing not as fast as I wanted but they are!

I've done a lot of color tests for the comic and I decided that the whole comic will have very simple flat colors and only the important scenes will have a full digital painting - for me it's the perfect solution because I don't want to spend an eternity painting every single page the same way :P

Hopefully- really really hopefully I will finish all of the sketching and inking before the end of February.

Scenes

Hey there again! I wish I had more time but for now, the comic is going a bit slow. I still have to work a lot on my time management which is hard when I have to get up at 4am to go to work.

I'm really desperate to leave this place because seriously, my workspace be like:

 Me cannot mooooove...

Oh well, we have to value what we have right, at least the computer is brand new and kicks ass!

But enough of complaining, the new year is knocking on the door and I will finally be able to live in a place where I can work properly.

The characters are all complete and now I'm developing the scenes for the comic:

 

Battle scene and armor sketches

Movement and horse studies

Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7

I still have a long way to go and it's going slow but I'll do what I can one step at a time.

Comic- Pilot concepts

Hello again my fellow bloggers!

I've been kind of an offliner but not a flatliner and here's the news.

The storyboard of the first (pilot) chapter of my comic is finally complete. It took a long while because I've never done something like this but it's getting quicker with time.

I've been doing a lot of concepts to know the characters well before starting something I might regret later. I'm happy to at least have a tone of what I want the comic to be, it makes it so much easier to think it through than having no idea what to communicate and bring in pure randomness (which is my usual style XD)

In my next post I will probably show some character sheets and development of the story.

Again sorry for the bad image quality- no scanner for now.

ALIEN

I've been working a lot lately to earn some cash because soon I'll be living by my own.

Finally got a new computer so now I can continue this!

Dedicating now my whole time to the first chapter of my comic- ALIEN

I don't want to lose too much time showing all the concepts, I'll show them when I finish the whole comic.
